School Officals Swearing-In Ceremony

 

 

20th July is a special day for the Campion School, Bhopal fraternity. It is the birthday of the founder of the school, Fr. E.F. More S.J. To commemorate this special occasion, the Installation Ceremony of school officials is held on this day. This year also happens to be the centenary year of Fr. More's birth anniversary.

Like every year, the process of selection of school officials started a fortnight ago. Students interested in holding the various prestigious officials' posts filed their nominations, which were then scrutinized and then the list of qualifying candidates was displayed on the notice-board. Then the election speeches were made by prospective candidates, elections held in which all the students of classes VII to XII cast their votes to elect the officials of their choice. The names of the elected officials were announced on the same day. Campion school has followed this democratic selection process since its inception.

 

The elected school officials of the year 2007-08 are

Asst. School Captain                  : Jubin Prasad(Class XI)

Gandhi House Prefect                 : Rahul Sharma (Class XII)

Asst. Prefect Gandhi House        : Rohit Sachdeva (Class XI)

Ashoka House Prefect                : Akshay Borgaonkar (Class XII)

Asst. Prefect Ashoka House       : Mustafa Maqsood (Class XI)

Tagore House Prefect                : Chitransh Chalotre (Class XII)

Asst. Prefect Tagore House        : Utsav Sharma (Class XI)

 

The officials were administered the Oath of office in a simple and solemn ceremony presided over by Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Pascal Topno, Archbishop of Bhopal . Rev.Fr. Topno administered the oath of office to the school captain, Argha Mondal. The school Principal Fr. Marianus Kerketta administered the oath to the Asst. School captain, House Prefects and Editors of the School Magazine. The student Editors are Akarsh Srivastava, Rohit Srivastava and Harshit Saxena, all of class XI.

 

Blessing the newly-appointed officials of the school, Rev. Fr. Topno urged the school officials to become true leaders and "provide leadership of service not only to the school but to entire mankind." He expressed the hope that each one of them would 'become the light and soul of the country".

 

The uplifting sentiments of the hymns "Tum asha, vishwas hamaree" and "It takes courage to answer a call" rendered melodiously by the school choir permeated the hearts of all present in the auditorium. The programme was held in the morning in the new auditorium and witnessed by the staff and students of the entire secondary section.

 

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the new school Captain who, on behalf of the entire team of newly appointed officials, promised once again to fulfill their duties and obligations with honesty and loyalty at all times.
